I started this thread last year about a R129 SL AMG.

It was a Sultan of Brunei car, blue on blue and priced on PistonHeads for around £12k, IIRC.

I discovered a couple of months ago that MCP Motorsport in Norfolk had purchased the car.
The vehicle was having a couple of interior repairs and a wheel refurbishment. I discovered this, because the car was being serviced by my Merc Specialist - small world, eh?!
They told me that the car would be up for sale again, before too long.

Well, here it is again! http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/874321.htm

Now, I know it's a superb, low mileage example, but surely it can't be worth that much of a mark up! Facelift car don't even fetch that much!

Outrageous price, and horrible wheels on it now.

£35,000!!!!!!!!

Also i don't like the interior.

Which is why people are queuing up to buy it-not!; just like the 190 Evo they have had for sale forever...good luck to them but it would have to be a real LOMBARD who purchases it.

It may be expensive, but it's supposedly depreciation proof!!

I wonder if the seller would guarantee it? ;)

Probably worth about £10K. £35K is cloud cuckoo land.

one pic has one set of wheels, another has another set of wheels.

one pic has one set of wheels, another has another set of wheels.

reading the ad its the turbine wheels on it now and the other set come with it

overpriced .. and the R230 do not suit it at all

Looks horrible and those early SL55 alloys look naff.

Would like to see the pictures of the 2.5.16V Evo II its parked next to.

As said above, will sit next to the 190E for god knows how long on there forecourt/showroom

good to see they are still giving out crack free on the NHS

thats the only explanation i can see for that thing being £35k

Hilarious price. It doesn't matter who owned it or it's history - it's not worth a penny more than £20k even if mint.

Wonder why it needed "suspension/alignment set up" ...
