Audio 30 APS power On

I have a 52 plate C220 CDi fitted with this audio/nav unit. Had the car three months and am slowly finding my way around all the gizmos! But...when I turn the radio on nothing happens for around 10 sec...then it works fine. Can this be right?

I think audio 30 was a Becker unit. If so then these do have a delay before coming on.
