Car
320cdi w203 2005 in Silver
I have recently been getting some strange gearbox shifts.
It seems to only happen once the car has been on a longer than normal drive.
it is like a clutch slipping between gears [ more than normal ].
I will try and get a dipstick from the stealer's at the weekend.
anyone have the part number for a w203.
I had the fluid changed at the meet at Olivers place a few months back.
It is not banging into gear like when i had a faulty maf sensor.
Any suggestions on what else it could be.

You should have contacted Oliver before asking the forum members ?

Totally agree, its not fair on Oliver to post something like this before speaking to him. Putting myself in his shoes I would be a little upset.

I am not blaming oliver at all.
sorry if it came over like that.

Any one have the part number for the dipstick.

It didn't come over like that at all. I understood the comment to be merely information that the ATF had been changed recently by a professional.

It does sound like it could be low fluid level so have it checked.

Hi,

Just pop it up and I can check the level for you.

Thanks to Dieselman and Oliver.:D
I will try and get a dipstick this weekend. part number anyone ?
I have been for a job interview today,so i went on a run to test out the gearbox.you can sometimes see the rev counter rise and the gearchange seems to slip.
ps I got the job :D :D

You may have a slight leak from the pilot bushing have you any ATF around the underside?

Check the level when engine is at operating temp (20 mins driving) and while engine is running.
