Just wondering if they can be retrofitted onto a W208?

Hi,
Auto wipers should be straight forward, though I find it hard to believe your CLK55 has,nt got them and to be honest thought they were pretty much standard on the older C43 AMG, so the CLK 55 being a newer car they would be standard.
Are you sure you haven,t got auto wipers and they just don,t work? when the screen sensor goes U/S auto wipers normally default to intermittent.
If you have,nt got it, it is a reasonably straight forward job to retro fit though you will need a new suitable windscreen fitted, a sensor and sensor cover. There might also be some coding involved, but personally I don,t think so.
Auto lights would be a bit more awkward as this was never an option on a 208 I believe, but I think there are aftermarket kits available to do this.

auto wipers were an option on my model, about £100 I think. There isn't a sensor at the top of the screen near the roof console. God knows why the original buyer didn't spec it on a £60K car. Not sure about the auto lights, I'm sure I saw it mentioned in the handbook. Will check.

Hi,
The sensor is approx £50, cover about a fiver, so if you have some screen chips and windscreen insurance, it might be the time for a MOD.
