Auto locking not working

I have a E350 Coupe CDI 265 as far as I know the car should open all the windows and pan roof when unlock is pressed on key fob for 5 seconds and vice versa when the lock button is pressed for five seconds.
It has only successfully completed this task about twice it normally gets about twenty percent of the way then stops I have about two months of warranty left and was wondering if anyone knows what the problem could be and save me the eighty five pounds diagnostic fee.

Don't they stop as soon as one releases the button?

If the car is still under warranty there shouldn't be a diagnosis fee if an error found?

It's not an old battery in the key fob is it?

The warranty is with Syther as they are c***s I doubt they would fix anything for free without a trip to county court.
Thank you leef44 I borrowed the Wife's key and it works fine so your diagnosis was correct.
