Hi I have aquired the aftermarket auto opening and closing hydraulic system for my 450sl(107).I need some photos that will show me how to install the hydraulic rams in the soft top compartment.This project is a big challenge for me and I would appreciate any information.Thanks in advance for help.

My 107 had a auto top installed when I bought it, but it never operated.
Many of the pipes were missing but the rams were still in place, althought the mechanism was disconnected from the soft top. I drove it for a few years like this, but the after a couple of years with the rams rattling about, I removed them.
Sorry I dont have any pictures, but one thing I can say, is that I dont envy you, the installation WILL be a nightmare, it was bad enough removing the old rams.
I also think the soft top frame hinges have to be modified.

make a call to Cheshire Classic Benz on 01625 260913. they should be able to put you in contact with Eugene Donnelly who fits these. Eugene knows all about servicing and fitting these.
should be able to do it for you - he is currently employed to service and install them to Cheshire Classic Benz i believe.
