can anyone help me out here: where is the top up point for auto transmission fluid: I have found the dip stick with the odd locking mechanism.

Also is there a certain routine to follow as I have no hand books with the car.

Kind regards

Paul:crazy:

The top up is down the dipstick tube. If you have to top up I bet you have a leak.

To check level engine and box is best HOT (20 min drive) and only with the engine running.

Chances are its wear or corrosion to the pipework metal or flexible rubber leading to the transmission fluid cooler in the front radiator. If it is--- its a relatively cheap fix :thumb: provided you havn't "cooked" the transmission. :( The pressed steel oil pans on the gearboxes are also known to distort if the bolts are overtightened leading to leakage but usually that's not sudden in onset.

Hi
this might help -

cheers

Hi and thank you all for your information: I have noted that there seems to be quite a lot of fluid covering a hose at the very front of the engine under the pully set up.

Thanks

Paul
