Auxilliary battery in boot absolutly flat after returning from a break Is there access from the bonnet to charge [The main "hood" battery is fully charged]. Can you access the boot by key, I am not sure if it is locked electronically, or just stiff with the closing "pull down". Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

If the main battery is charged and the car starts the aux battery will charge as normal.

However my main battery is in the boot ..aux is under the bonnet.

There are connectors under the bonnet to connect jumper leads.

My SL55 also tends to run down the aux battery (the large one in the boot) if left for an extended period (1-2 weeks). Normally it has enough juice to unlock the car, failing that use the manual key. The starter battery (under the bonnet) is protected and should always start the car unless it's knackered.

as above - not uncommon. Use the metal key to unlock the boot
