So, will use M2 - but how do I tell Mother (aka SatNav) to avoid the M20 as that will likely be the route it will want to use?</div>

You can set the length of the block.<br /> COMAND calculates a detour route if possible.<br /> In the map display with the menu system<br /> displayed ( page 119) select<br /> “Route” - “Detour”.<br /> To set length of block: Select<br /> “Longer” or “Shorter” repeatedly until<br /> the required length is set.<br /> The blocked segment is highlighted in<br /> red/white on the map. Shown at the<br /> top of the display is the length of the<br /> blocked segment and the route segment<br /> to which the block goes.<br /> To cancel the function: Select “Back”.<br /> To start route calculation: Select<br /> “Start”, see also ( page 135).<br /> To change a block: Select “Navi” -<br /> “Route” - “Detour” - “Change”.<br /> i If a block already exists, the message “Detour<br /> Already Set” is displayed. Just get on the M2 and force it to recalculate.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">Well do not worry too much put your entended route in,I take it from exiting the M1 onto the M25 you are going right anti clockwise and not left to the dartford crossing,if so let the sat nav take you onto the M23/M20 then when on the M20 turn off at Junction 7 marked Detling/Sittingbourne this will get you onto the M2.</div>

<div class="bbWrapper">As to setting a detour I can't help you there as I don't know how to do it on mine but i use the tunnel quite a lot and the M20 is the most stressful part of my journey. i just use google maps on the phone. The diversion will be signposted but I missed my tunnel crossing last Thursday so give yourself extra time. I came off at M20 Junc 9 and it took over an hour to get back on at Junc 10 and that was at 4am. The long term weekend closures are finished for the time being though so it depends on what time are you travelling. The planned closures are from 20:00 to 06:00 this weekend but they usually open earlier (anytime from 05:00 onwards).
