I will Post all information once I receive it from the picture of the Dashcam to the pricing and also the installation, you need a Video output source I will be using My newly installed 10.25 Android screen.

These have been available for a while and are available for lots of models on AliExpress, there’s a dedicated website too. I think I created a thread. Minimal and mixed feedback put me off. I would be interested to hear how you get on with it.

Dashcams are fantastic if you have lots of accidents every year (or drive on Russian roads). Most folks in the UK have 1 accident on average every 20 to 30 years. Makes some very boring footage

Omg.... so after 30 years I must be due one then ?

Must keep up, moonloops. Clearly you have never played Dashcam Rally - this is when one accelerates toward any vehicle that to do give right of way, then brakes sharply. A compilation of such induced incidents is then posted on YouTube and one then revels in the many Likes one receives.

Thing to watch for on these ones is that most don't start auto recording and have to be triggered manually which would be a PITA.

Do you mean dashcams in general of the ones specific to this thread? I know that generally dashcams do start automatically hence my question.

I'm very interested in this, worst thing about most dashcams is they sit there hanging from the windscreen moving around. That looks like an excellent solution.

Specific to this thread. The ones on Alibaba that are in these replacement trim. Did some research earlier in the year and they all had to be set to record by pressing the button on the side each journey. May have changed now, but worth checking out.

Great if they have and might re-look at them if that is the case.

A dashcam is an absolute necessity anywhere near london. Even the shortest of drives is beginning to feel like a military tour 'round here (s.herts/n.london). It's armoured G wagen time when some prat inevitably writes the CLK off.

The cheap Aukey I bought is barely noticeable.

I nearly wiped out a teenage cyclist last night at the shopping mall. Pitch black, no lights on his bike and him all in black with his hoodie up when he came flying out off the pavement between parked cars. I think a dash cam would have been very useful in that situation but I wonder if the night vision is up to scratch in very low light ?
