B180 CDI AUTO
Hi,

I'm new to the forum, as I have just brought a B-Class (used), got tired of my Renault always breaking down, and needed a bigger boot.

I've only had the car a few days, and so far so good. I've searched the forums but not found the answer to a few questions, so though I would post. The Car I have is a 2007 B180 CDI Auto model, with built in Command Aps and with a CDC.

  • I need to get my phone connected to the car, I was told by the dealer, that to connect my phone I need a Bluetooth cradle, not sure which one I require. ( But also if I press the serv button, there is a btooth options, but this searches and never finds anything, should it??).

  • There is also a video button on the command APS system, I was lead to believe this would allow me to put DVD’s and play them, obviously not when driving, but to keep the kids quite while parked for a while etc. I tried a DVD, but only got the message, no video!

Many thanks for any help with the above,

Welcome to the forum.

1) The Comand APS doesnt have full built in bluetooth, it will only connect to a headset. Only the new Comand NTG2.5 from MY2009 onwards has full built in bluetooth. As your dealer advised you will need a cradle. First you need to check if the car has phone pre-wire. The connector if you have phone pre-wire is in the armest drawer. See picture attached. If it does you can buy a bluetooth cradle.

I would recommend the ViseeO MB-2 bluetooth cradle. Comand Online Ltd :: Mercedes Phone/Bluetooth :: Cradles & Bluetooth Adapters

If it doesnt have phone pre-wire you can have phone pre-wire retro fitted but it isnt cheap. Alternatively you could use an aftermarket solution like Parrot bluetooth kit or upgrade to the newer Comand NTG2.5.

2) Comand APS doesnt play video dvds. The newer Comand NTG2.5 does.

Thanks for the Quick reply, I do have the phone pre-wire in the armrest drawer, so will order the cradle.

Do you know what the video button is for on the APS systems then, just curious?

Thanks again.
