Hello All!

I've just booked in my car for the first service under my ownership and been quoted £773.48 for the privilege. This sounds ridiculously expensive to me and was wondering if this sounds about right to you guys?

I think this must include the gearbox oil change, and fuel and air filters, my CLS320 was £820 for that service, mind you that was a few years back now

Go to the Mercedes my service website enter reg plate and mileage and see what's on the job sheet. Sounds like 3 additional service items I top of standardB Service. Myservice will also give you the Mercedes fixed price servicing cost

Hmmmm, I'm probably in for a surprise too, my 2011 C350 (petrol) is booked in for a 'B5' service in a couple of weeks with my main dealer. Still, I had an 'A' service with them on the car in 2014, so I shouldn't be too shocked when it comes I guess!

:)

It's about right. That doesn't mean I agree that it's reasonable, just that it's about what they charge.

4-year service is a B plus fuel filter, air filters and brake fluid, all at extra charge. The filter prices are crazy (IMHO), but that's about £450 alone. There is a view that the (350cdi OM642) car must be 'reset' on STAR after the air filter change, otherwise it could go into 'limp' mode. Another view is that the car should 'relearn' and reset itself after a while. Whether it does or not, I've no idea.

Still, at least you should be offered a 'free' cup of coffee, so there are positives that are often not mentioned

Some of the 350 Diesel engines have a very awkward fuel filter. This alone can cost up to an hours labour plus the price of the fuel filter (£100)

Not nice for an owner!!!

Find your self a good indie, they tend to do a good job for less using genuine parts. Get a good one and they will do a better job.
Don't think you will get that coffee though.

Wow that's steep:eek:

I've got all this to come when I get back to the MB fold.

Does your bill list any additional items including parts?

Just been playing around with my service on cars I've been looking at and altering mileage to see what changes Kick in ! Bloody hell its an eye opener. If I was paying into a service plan would that cover transmission oil change etc ? Would fuel and air filters which seem to be extras/additional items be charged separate ? I was checking the service costs on a disco 4 which was what my wife wanted originally and the costs seem to be the same or worse lol. Maybe prestige motoring is too pricey for me . Might need to suss out a good independent!

Service plans cover all additional extras that are due.
