Yup thought you may be in the States with a 16 year old daughter getting in the drivers seat. What is the problem with the C230. Is it not starting? Or is the central locking not letting you in. We need a bit of a clue as to what the issue with the car is.

Could be coincedence, but disconnected battery to install new mass air flow sensor. loosely connected battery and alarm went off. hit the red alarm button on key and alarm went off. started car and let it run for a while and it suddenly stopped running. went to turn key again to start and it will not move past lock position. friend closed the trunk and no way to get into trunk. lights work, hazards work but key won't turn??????

Electrics not my field I'm afraid but could be that loose battery terminal that is an issue.

Its 6 50AM in UK so perhaps someone will be along in a while who has a better knowledge of electrics than me. Hope you get it sorted.
