Looking for a battery charger, what would be recommended for a 2013 Mercedes-Benz E250 Cdi AMG Sport Coupe with start/stop?

Preferbly a CTEK or NOCO as I can get a discount on them. But not sure which one is correct/best for my car

Thank you

Search Battery Conditioner on here, you'll also find the £15 Lidl (which I've been using for a few years now on my SLK) and Maypole recommended, both of which are considerably cheaper than CTEK and NOCO.

I have a Halfords Advanced one but I was kind of under the impression it needed to be a certain brand. The manual says use Mercedes only charger but they don't look any different to the CTEK so wasn't at all sure which one would be suitable

There are probably no bad options in terms of battery chargers, and they all perform similarly. CTEK and NOCO are the big names and well regarded, however there are lots of less well known brands which do a similar job for less.

I personally favour CTEK devices and have quite a few of them. You cannot go wrong with the CTEK MXS 5.0 specifically, it’s fool proof and can happily charge outside, 24/7/365 and has a great range of affordable accessories and spare parts.

Prices vary widely between suppliers. Whichever you buy, check Amazon over time, as the pricing changes regularly, and could swing from as little as £50 and £90, so if you’re not in a rush choose your timing for the best deal.

Good 'ole MB. "Their" battery charger is a rebadged CTEK.
They'll be telling you that you can only put genuine MB air in the tyres next;)

That’s one of the reasons I bought CTEK chargers for the cars that don’t come with a charger. The cars that came with a charger (well conditioner or maintainer) from the factory were all CTEK with the car manufacturers logo.

Just be aware, unlike CTek & Noco, many of the cheaper ones do not start charging again if the power supply is interupted for even a second or two, they just switch off. CTek and Noco will both start charging again as soon as the power is restored. The Noco appears to built far better than the CTek, even the wire gauge for the connectors is twice the thickness.

Bought my 8 amp smart charger off eBay for £12 . It's done a job for 3 years.

Thank you for the replies, on a sligtly related note. I need to update the maps, this is being done by SD Card. The vendor says to have the engine running for the entire update process which could take up to an hour and a half. I am not really wanting to leave my engine running for that amount of time.

I only need the sat nav to be on. Can I leave the ignition on for that amount of time? As in it won't automatically turn off after 30 mins or so?

I purchased a CTEK MXS 5 from Lidl couple of years ago.

Only used the battery charger twice and no issues.
