Battery Problem......on a MINI.......AGAIN!!!

Hi Guys,

After my previos thread on here about my girlfriends Mini needing a new battery thanks to the boot light being on for two week while the park was parked, I find myself in a similar situation again but this time the boot light is fine.

So something is definately drawing current from the battery when the engine is off. I will wire up the multimeter to the battery and go through each fuse later today but I just have a few questions.

1) The car battery is dead and the car wont start but when the car tries to turn over the drivers side window starts to go down in jerks (timed to the engine trying to turn). Does this automatically point to a faulty window motor or is the lack of volts in the battery cause the car to get confused.

2) When the AA find you with a dead battery they do a sort of test on the battery to see if it is likely to hold charge and operate like a normal battery. Does anyone know the conditions and thresholds for this test?

Not sure what tester the aa use, very basic is a drop tester looks like two large pokers joined together much better is the elec jobbies midtronics is one which is good.
