Battery recommendations

I am needing to replace the main battery on my CLS, any recommendations regarding brand, type, source/supplier?

Well I have the Bosch S4 075 with a 4 year guarantee from Europarts it is £58.99 at the moment with free home delivery but I took out the 075 Lion out of the the car and it had been good and that is £46.49 with a 3 year guarantee,I don't think I would put less than a 75amp battery in a CL or a S Mercedes.

Varta [ Johnson Controls]- they manufacture the top of line Bosch Batteries anyway so either make is fine.

The 55k needs an AGM battery at least 90ah, possibly 95ah. Bosch, Exide,Varta or OEM from the dealer would be my choice.

Get it from your dealership, of at least get a price before you buy 3rd party

1. Original MB (usually Varta)

2. Bosch or Varta

3. Yuasa

4. Other brands

Tayna Batteries are a good source for Varta batteries at discount pricing.

I just bought a Varta E44 Siver Dynamic for my E46 at £67 with next day delivery.

Just to conclude this thread, have opted for a MB OEM one. Following the response to my query to my local stealer parts dept (who I have come to know very very well due to my ongoing ML project) regarding replacement.

Retail Price is £156.13 inc vat
