Does any one no the numbered positions of the bearing caps(the numbers are on the top of the caps) that hold down the camshafts on a 2.3 16v 190e as i have had them of for a while and dont no what order the go back on at

1 front left (exhaust cam)
2 second left and so on.

On a 2.2 twin cam 6 is front right (inlet cam)

Thanks for the help,
One more thing if you can help, the numbers on the caps are on one side of the cap, are the numbers on the the left or right side of the cap when i put them back on.

I am not sure on your engine however on a 124 16 valve the numbers are on the left for the exhaust and right for the inlet. (Standing in front of the car)

I can not see why they should be different on each engine,i will try and look into a bit more and see if i can find out.
Thanks again for your help.
