The dealer should be able to give the code to you as well if its a mercedes rebranded becker.

Hi Fuzzer,
thanks for the reply. The car it came out of was broken for it's parts so I don't have any details of the car. All I can find out, is it came from a c class. I would think the dealer would wont the reg and chassis number. Still I will try them out they can always ring dronsfields. Best regards

You can get the code from chassis number if it was the factory fit one, but their is no other way...

your local radio company should be able to hack the code out it give them a shout . prob about 20 quid

Yeah - there's tons of companies who will re-code it for £10.

Check the millions of ads in auto trader.

^^^ bump :)

Hi. I'm new to this and would like more info about the codes, why are they needed?
My CD player that came with '98 C class (supposedly from factory) doesn't play any CD's now, just ejects them and report "Error". A while back it used to play them after 20 minute "warm up" sort of ;)
An electrician told my brother he needs the code, or he can "hack it" for an extra amount of money. Does the MB dealership give it to me freely if given the VIN number?
Thanks.

Yep, they can do it from the VIN, if it was a factory fit.
