becker " with the information given it is not possible to calculate a route"

sat nav works fine for a few days then goes through periods where no even if select a previous destination it comes up with the above statement persistently .....i have reset it and rebooted but keeps happening any ideas anyone? ps i have becker map pilot in glove box

Basics would be, and you have done it as mentioned, are:-

Check how many satellites you are picking up, bottom right hand corner of the screen. This should be minimum of 3 ( triangulation from what I understand)

Pull unit out as you have stated, press reboot.

Connect unit to computer and check version upgrade (not referring to map upgrade, but the software itself)

Failing that, then if you know someone with Becker to see if their unit works in your car ( or vice versa). This to see if it's the unit or not.

I hope this helps and kind of banking on that a software version update may help.

You can also hook it up to your PC and then use the Becker content manager software to erase the maps on the unit and re-write them back. Might be an error in the maps but sounds more like missing satellite reception. When you get this are you in the city as tall buildings can cause the sat nav to lose signal especially in narrow streets with high buildings.
