Best Battery For CLS55 AMG?

I had asked exactly this, but they said they need the battery in the car in order to be able to run their tests.
to see if its the battery or the charging system

Were the late ones AGM and the early ones lead acid? Or the other way round. I would have automatically put an AGM in mine until I read this. do you know thw changeover vin number

It looks like the later models were lead acid early ones AGM, mine is MY 2006 Option code 806, though it almost certainly wont be as straight forward as this.
The chassis break points on my car and the OP's are below, if yours doesn't fall into the break points below, let me know youre last seven digits and I will look it up for you.
Upto A038331 AGM
From A055254 to A103826 - Lead Acid

Hi,
From chassis A038332 to A055253 - AGM Battery - 12V/95AH - OEM Pt. No. A 005 5411 10 01
This is the same battery as it was fitted with from the factory, whereas mine was built with an AGM and then superseded with a Lead Acid.

Ok thanks very much. All a bit of a puzzle really as mine is an 806 car also. I guess they must have modified the BCM or something at some time through the production run. Every day's a school day.

Failure after two years is not common. Have you considered doing a current drain test?

Shame you weren't closer to me . I've a g14 sitting doing nothing that I paid £180 for , was only fitted to car 2 weeks before I sold it. Too big for my new e350 , typical 🙄 😒 😑.

Hello,

I stumbled across this helpful post when trying to fathom what battery I need for my CLS55. My chassis number is between the two. I think it's currently fitted with a lead-acid but it doesn't stay charged properly. This could be due to abuse but perhaps it's the wrong type. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

My chassis number is WDD2193762A050209.

Thank you
Simon
