I, like many here, have used AutcDoc to buy replacement parts for my cars.

As long as you get what you ordered and it works they are fine.

But watch out if you have a warranty claim. I bought an A/C compressor(Nissen brand) for my C124. It proved to be faulty. I returned it to them, back in July, following their procedures and despite 28 seperate exchanges of emails they have failed to sort out the issue.

They say it has been sent back to the manufacturer and will take 6-8 weeks to resolve the problem. That time has passed and now they say it could take 8-12 weeks.

It's very frustrating to keep receiving different information about the state of the warranty claim depending on which of their many staff replies.

Anyone else had a warranty problem with them?

Your purchase contract was with AutoDoc, not the manufacturer. They are responsible for repairing or replacing the item not the manufacturer. Give them 7 days notice to replace the item before you report them to Trading Standards.

They are based in Germany, unsure if Trading Standards will apply.

I’m biased as some of you know having Parts business myself, but it’s just another reason to Support your local Motor Factor or Main Dealer, you won’t run the risk of Counterfeit part and they should sort out any problems quickly and efficiently. Granted it doesn’t help you on this occasion.
That said wishing you a happy outcome. Did you pay via credit card? You could report the transaction to them, they maybe able to help.

There's a long thread about autodoc on here somewhere. Some have had decent luck with them but I certainly haven't. My problem was having nasty aftermarket parts sent after ordering OEM and the customer service subsequently being a PITA. I wouldn't bother them again.

I’ve used them for a few bits they’ve been OK, they’re quite cheap for Bilsteins. Not had to return anything yet though.

I was looking at buying some bits from Autodoc the reviews were not great and a risk not worth taking.
I maybe wrong but, having looked at several other similar lower-price parts websites, they all appear to be the same company based in Berlin.

I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with AUTODOC, I received branded parts (SKF/Lemforder/Brembo) at prices that no UK supplier could match.

Until Brexit is resolved, I thought EU law usurped UK law?

Unsure of the relevance of this ?

Someone suggested going to UK Trading Standards to resolve issues with Autodoc, I merely mentioned that the company in question is based, for trading purposes, in Germany so UK Trading Standards may have little to no influence.

I was thinking of replacing my stock AMG shox for Koni replacements bought from Autodoc.
Am I taking a risk buying from this shop?
If I order Koni, shop could perhaps send me low quality KYB shox?
Autodoc are thy that dubious?

I am assuming that if you pay by Credit Card then you are protected against non-delivery.

However, in case of issue with the part, or with a return, things may get complicated.

Major concern is if I buy parts labeled a certain brand and they send me something else?

For instance, buying Mann filters and they send you Framm filters which are total cr@p!
Mann filters which costs more for their OEM quality, shop puts the price difference in their pockets when they send you cheaper low cost parts.
Is this something that happens?
I used to buy parts from ECP and I always received proper parts brands although some OEM parts where not up to their known reputable Q. standards.
Perhaps some of ECP OEM parts were counterfeits?
Who knows?

My wife had an issue with something she bought on a credit card, the card company told her to post it back recorded tracked, after no refund appeared contacting them, then said they gave the wrong advice but they are not going to refund the transaction or the return postage.
I bought NGK spark plug and lawn mower service kit from a seller on Amazon they sent some Chinese no brand shit, Amazon are not interested in sorting anything out with the sellers they allow to advertise and sell stuff, I put the stuff in the bin.
Now before I buy anything, I always look at the seller info and search reviews on the company and never buy if their registered address is outside the uk.

I've always found Amazon pretty amazing for returning stuff, what went wrong for you?

Chinese stuff from a Chinese business seller through amazon marketed as NGK product with pics, the company disappeared after.
Amazon said they do not guarantee anything that is not sold by and fulfilled by Amazon.
the price was cheap and took several weeks to arrive just to go straight in the bin.
Buyer beware.

Same here; I've no complaints about them.

Aquaintance on the porsche9768uk forum is having a mare of a time with them over a replacement Mk7 Golf heater matrix, their email responses are absolutely pathetic, and based on what I've seen I would not touch them with a barge pole! The part they supplied is supposed to be correct and looked OK to the naked eye, but is 1-2mm bigger on the corners so will not fit into the box. They are refusing return for credit as it shows signs of wear on the corners where Jakes' mechanic attempted to fit it!

My current experience with them was positive. I ordered an Arnott strut as it was cheaper than anywhere else and didn't require the old one to be sent back. 27% off, I ordered it. The next day their discount went up to 31% so I called them up. Very helpful, the quickest way to sort this so I wouldn't be out of pocket was to cancel the order and the money to go into my Autodoc account rather than refunded onto my cars which would take days. Within an hour the money was there and so I ordered the same part at a cheaper price. Another call made and the residual cash was refunded to my card, which took a few days as with all refunds. Part arrived and was as expected, brand new and fitted (and worked) perfectly. Can't complain.
