Even if you have the required skills and equipment taking on something that yourself is not so much a project as a life changing event.

Good friend of mine has a half restored Rover P6 V8 in his garage. By his own admission, he also now has half a marriage :(
 
fair comment Satch, my alfa montreal restoration wrecked what was left of my marriage :)

on the subject of the UK one, I'd guestimate the bodywork would cost no more than £5k.

delivered to a bodyshop as a bare shell then half the work has been done - why should it look any worse than the US one which has also had a full bare metal respray?

Hi Marc,
I note it went for about $30,000. I have always tended to straight swop the the dollar to pound when working out transportation, and the importation including relevant taxes. Times might well have changed though, but unfortunately it is not something you could sneek through the Nothing to Declare channel.

Beautiful car though,
