As above, I'm tinkering with the idea on
My silver w211

Black alloys are just wrong on so many levels always makes the car look cheap and nasty IMHO

I have to say that I'm not a fan of black rims either.
I just feel that they make the wheels look smaller than they are as you can't clearly see where the rim meets the tyres.
Unless of course, you go for black rims with a polished lip, which would work abit better.

I went with them and glad I did!

As stated above Black with a polished lip would look great. Otherwise you could always try gunmetal / smoke silver - a little more subtle. That's what I went for on our silver W203 - some pictures in my gallery (see the signature)

I'd agree with that too.
Alex put a set of 20" Carlsson's on his new CL600.
They are a gun metal colour (I'm sure there is a proper name
For their colour) and they look great.

dark wheels only work with a shiny lip... split rims work best.

Black AMGs on a black 124 coupé look ever so slightly sinister.

I would be tempted but not, perhaps, with silver.

But, of course, I may be ever so slightly sinister!

Your choice.

Silver or black look good as long as you
Keep them clean. Wheels look good

These bad boys are ready to be fitted to my Silver CLK55 project. Just back from Wheel Genie in Huntingdon, complete with new Conti's and flush fit valves. Great finish, they even painted the wheel centres removing the three pointed stars to make a great job of the wheels. No shots yet on the car but just a few days to go....

By the way check out my wanted ad. Any of you guys with a solid example of a Silver CLK63 (maybe 2007/08) get in touch.

The sportier the car, the more likely that black wheels will work. Silver isn't the sportiest colour either, so the combo is a bit risky. But on the C63 ACEJ IMHO it works well. great pic & great look. Congrats.
