BLACK Screen?

Jumped into the car this morning, started her up and noticed the Sat Nav Screen was a totally black, radio worked, Dash Nav working fine.

Tried a few reboots via the power switch and stopping and restarting the car, still black screen!

10 Mile trip to my daughters, started the car to come home and Screen suddenly came back to life

I have no idea what the problem was!

It can't be down to Brexit it just stopped working without 2 and a half years fannying about!

It happens ours went black for no reason but we had to do the forced reset, pulling fuses etc, to get it going.

Black Friday was extended this year.

My screen is occasionally black if not used for a day or two and weather is cold, I believe it goes into a power saving mode.

Neither my NTG2.5 or NTG4.5 ever did that. It sounds plausible, but I have never experienced it.

Check the car's main battery / go for a long drive - I wonder whether voltage got a bit low given how cold it is now ..

Haven’t used mine for a few days then only briefly today.

When I turned off the engine while finishing a call I got a message saying COMAND will shut down after 3 minutes unless engine is restarted.

Can’t remeber seeing that before.

I occasionally get this message when I stop for a paper on my way to work! If the paper shop are slow in opening the message is presented after around 20 Minutes!

Very likely your main battery has reached end of life. But try a long run to get it charged up ...
