Blackberry Question

Thought that someone may be able to help me with this question. I have Yahoo Messenger installed on my blackberry, does anyone know if the messages sent come out of my data allowance or text allowance?

I was thinking data but have read some things that made me doubt myself

I cant be 100% sure as I dont use it but I think the yahoo application uses the web browser connection, in which case its forms part of your standard data allowance.

With BB ur charges are based on MB data allowance per month thats tx'fd, from what i can remember. This includes any internet browsing as well as email txfer to and from bb. So yahoo mail requires a GPRS connection = txfer of data = usage of your monthly allowance.

If you are with O2 - Yahoo Messenger is included in the BB data (so not web data). Its in page 5 of the attached link.

Just as an aside, I have now implemented Microsoft Communicator on our corporate Blackberry handsets. This way we have the ability to use IM on the handsets but retain full control and as per our security audit, all communication can be logged. Seems to workj rather well I must say.
