Bodyshop in Durham area?

Hi

I have recently purchased a W202 180 Elegance, 1998 with 95k. Can anyone recommend a good bodyshop in the Durham area? I have tried Peterlee Body repairs (only interested in insurance jobs where they can 'up' the price) and Trevor Higmet body repairs who although very nice, can't be bothered to give me a quote and I'm not chasing them. I need some rust attended to, repaired where possible or replacement panel where not. Usual places, around the boot lock and all 4 wheel arches. I want a good job done though but I cannot afford the £4,000 that MB quoted!!!!! esp since I only paid £1900 for the car in the 1st place. Any advice or comments extremely welcome.

North East Body Shops?

Hi, I believe the Merc dealer in Sunderland use a paint shop on the Bolden Industrial estate behind Asda, they are called 'Steve Watson Coachworks'. I intend to seek them out myself as my arches are rusted, you could also ask the Independent Merc service place at Dunston Gateshead who they use.
