Unfortunately you'll find that you have to remove the drivers door panel. The switch goes in from the outside but is locked in place with either a clip or screw (dependent on the age of the vehicle), that can only be removed from the back of the switch.

Thanks HD, you've just confirmed my fears. It looks like the door panel lower half is separate from the top. Any clues as to the easiest way to remove it would be appreciated. The last thing I want to do is tear the whole inner door panel out, as this is the Sport Premium Plus, with more controls than the average dashboard.
