I am seeking some advice from knowledgeable members of this community. On my new C63S which is on order, I have ordered a Brabus exhaust to be fitted from new. This work is done after the car is delivered to the UK, by the supplying dealer.

It’s a curious situation because it is a new car, with an “aftermarket” exhaust, but all covered by the new warranty as Brabus is an approved supplier.

My question is: obviously they will be taking the factory exhaust off the car. Should I ask if I can keep this? It will barely have been used (just to get it shipped to the UK), but on the other hand I can’t imagine a situation where I would swap it back on. It will be a bulky thing to store, and would probably rust if not used. Does it have any market value? What would anyone here do?

Is the dealer giving you a special reduced price for the Brabus exhaust in lieu of retaining the "old" exhaust?
If not, the exhaust taken off belongs to you. I definitely keep it and put it on the bay of dreams.
Someone will want it, if only for the rear boxes.

Thank you. I just had the chance to listen to the Brabus and standard exhausts side by side in the dealership.
To be honest I wasn't convinced the Brabus was worth the extra. With both on their loud mode, they both sounded good. Brabus is deeper, and sounds more mechanical, standard is pretty much as loud, and more exhaust gassy. Maybe Brabus sounded a tad more brutal but the standard one sounds pretty damn good.
So I am probably going to cancel the exhaust order. It's a lot of money for pretty much the same thing, and doesn't add any power.
