Having just purchased my first Mercedes I am totally flummoxed by the different specs and variations of pads and discs for this . Is their an online database where I can get the specs for my vehicle’s braking system by vin number. AFAIK it is standard (I.e. no sports pack). I am more used to working on my landrover discovery 2 which is definitely easier to decipher!

Click on the front or rear brake diagram and you can get the OE part number for your brake disc.
You should be able to compare the OE Part # with aftermarket discs to ensure you get the correct one.

Thank you for that, unfortunately the database doesn’t recognise my VIN😢

Definitely checked the vin search on that and it doesn’t recognise my vin, maybe it’s because it’s an American database, looks like this is going to be a very steep learning curve, thanks anyway

The link is the correct one for your model, even if the Vin# isn't recognised.

This is the Electronic Parts Catalogue for the complete car, a CLK 220CDi

I’ll bookmark that and thank you for replying, I’m still hunting for the introductions section to formalise things!

Got there before you! Probably be the first and last time that happens!🤗

That one recognises the vin, thank you for that
Have you tried Autodoc. Prices are reasonable and their parts identification system has never let me down.

I did look at them, I have their app on my phone, very limited on manufacturer choice though.

Local parts shop all the parts in stock when I renewed the front pads and discs for my CLK M272 a few years ago.
Just gave them reg number, no need for VIN and they did the rest.

That’s odd, I’ve found they have a very broad choice though I tend to go for Brembo.
No brembo listed on discs, when I apply filters when searching the only front disc that comes up is Delphi.

Unfortunately my local parts shop hasn't the same approach but I think I'll test their aptitude this weekend.
