Police are hunting a “buffoon” driver after he was filmed apparently trying to splash pedestrians in north London. A woman captured a Toyota 4x4 being driven inches away from the kerb along Kentish Town Road, at the junction with Highgate Road, on Friday during heavy rain. Footage shows water from the road splashing across the street in a suspected attempt to soak passers-by. One witness told the Standard at least a dozen people received a drenching as they huddled under a bus stop. She said the car stopped but then turned around so it could drive back along the road to splash through more puddles. She told the Standard: “This car was being driven so close to the kerb and the people at the bus stop got soaked. The car turned around so it was driving past my side of the road so I hurried into a doorway to avoid getting drenched. "You could see they were just looking for puddles to drive through." The clip was passed to police who have appealed for help to identify the owner of the vehicle after it was found to be uninsured. Sgt Paul Taylor described the driver as a “clown” and “buffoon” in separate tweets. He posted: “The earlier vehicle not registered & no insurance! Do you know the current owner?TOYOTA Light 4X4.” Sent from my iPhone using MBClub UK

I used to know a Toyota owner (Auris) who loved doing that until he skidded and nearly totalled his car; luckily not the pedestrian. Idiot.

A few years ago we had a fabulous family day out at London Zoo with my wife and two (then very young) daughters.

As we left the Zoo, heading for the pedestrian crossing, a car with three young lads aboard was very deliberately driven through a huge puddle, completely soaking us and reducing both my daughters to tears.

Rather unfortunately for the driver, he had failed to notice the red light at the crossing which forced him to stop. All I will say is, the driver somehow fell out the car and into the puddle, where he proceeded to roll around for a bit.

So not such a bad day after all.

^^he he I like this one :)
