Bulbs

...And thanks to user 190 who pointed-out the Nightbreaker Silver - I have now ordered 4 :thumb:

Just to update that the Osram Nightbreaker Silver bulbs arrived yesterday - 4 bulbs for £24, and they are well worth it.

The light is noticeably whiter than the standard bulbs, in fact it's almost as white as the DRLs. And when driving, the light output seems much better.

I can't really see a difference from the old Nightbreaker bulbs I had on my W203 and which I gave-up on at the time due to their unacceptably short service life.

(Though I am sure that the Unlimited and Laser will have measurably higher light output)

All as expected, and if the bulb's service life has indeed improved as the manufacturer claims, then I will be well impressed with the product.

Again, if they prove durable, then I would say this is a worthy upgrade for any car equipped with standard Halogen bulbs, especially given the relatively low cost and ease of installation compared to other more-clever headlamp upgrades.

(The bad news for the Xenonphiles among us is that the light output is 100% bright white - no bluish 'fake HID' tint - so if you set your heart on blue-tinted lights, look elsewhere.....)

Confused.com , Ozzy NB Silver are a standard ( yellow) 3200K !
You are correct, and to further confuse... the diagram on the box says they have the same 'light colour' as standard bulbs, but they are 100% 'brighter':

Which is why I wasn't expecting the bulbs to have a very white light - and yet they do, which is excellent. I am not complaining :)

At no point has anyone said Nightbreaker silvers bulbs are a fashion statement so there is no reason to be be confused. They are just a worth while functional improvement on the stock item which is all some of us want.

Anyone got any recommendations for H11 Led that wont error out to put in my front fog lights

Just to let you know, I replaced my front fog lights with LEDs, it renders them useless as 'fog' lights, though they act for me a pseudo DRLs. The original bulbs you have in now are much better at cutting through fog rather than the white LED illumination. As long as you are aware of that, fill your boots...

i know they will be useless as lights but to be honest i can live with that, just dont like the yellow light against the xenon white.
did your bulbs go in without errors showing

Yes, but they were purchased as 'canbus error free' and came with a resistor which emulates the loading of a standard bulb, so fooling the car into thinking all is OK. You should be warned that the resistor gets quite hot (it's encased in a small metal box), so make sure it is mounted to something metal so the heat can dissipate safely away...

BTW... on my W204, there's an option configurable on STAR, to either have the DRLs dim when the dipped beam is on, or switched-off altogether.

The factory default setting of this feature for HID and LED is DRLs dimmed with dipped beam.
The factory default setting of this feature for Halogen bulbs is DRLs switched-off with dipped beam.

I am assuming MB did it this way for aesthetic reasons, i.e. because the bright LED DRLs are in contrast with the yellowish hue of the standard Halogen bulbs?
