May Day.. May Day.. May Day..
This is a 2004 (pre facelift) C 200 CDI SW, running through storm... I'm going down... I'm going down....
... sounds like a tragedy...
Well mates, that's how it goes with the great Mercedes Benz. A year has passed and my problems with this fantastic car still going on.
Fighting with the steering wheel to force the car going straight. Unbelieveble!
After six settings on the front geometry, after fitting the new nuts, after fitting new tyres... the stealership said everything was fixed and the car still follow the asphalt splices. Can you imagine driving on the highway at 100 mph how the car tries to run you on the jersey? They said it is normal! Jesus... I wonder if they know what does it means to keep the wheel with two hands correcting the road inclination at every second. One time is too much and the other is too less... Normal... are they? But as in the real tragedy use to happen, the worse come to worst! Three months later I bought the car, I suffered a clutch replacing due to a defective clutch disk and I had changed all the related components, as the bearing and desengage gear lever, because of the difficult to put in and pull out the gears. Then, as for a kind of magic, the gearbox (manual one) started to give lot of problems especially when moving the shift lever from the 1st to the 2nd gear and from the 3rd to 4th. A noisy shift and a not easy lever movements. Also in this case, the stealeship said everything was fine. When I asked them if they consider normal a gearbox that sounds like an old fiat 500, they replied: yes, you have to move the lever slow and sweety if you don't want to hear noises!! ARE THEY JOKING OR WATH???? 36000 euros spent are reasonable to complaint that stupid statement, don't they?
At the end mates, MB Italy sent me a letter where they stated, after a meeting with the stealeship, that the car complies with the standard specifications of the model! Crazy.
Now, with my lawyer, we are trying to get the car cheched by an external engineer to proove the defects and the we try to get the car fixed or refund.
No words to comment. But for sure, this is the third and last MB that my garage will host! SURE!
Greeting to all of you from Italy
