My C 43 AMG ex press car unfortunately has to move on

Hello all,

Although using my C 43 on a daily basis is great fun its not as practical or financially sensible as it used to be due to rising fuel prices and my little van being so comfortable/frugal and capable of lugging about pretty much anything i need it to i find im hardly ever using my C 43, that and the fact that i have no room indoors to store it due to other cars (old resto projects) i have reluctantly decided that it may be time to pass it on.

My car is R733 JNH which some of you may recognise as the car used for press/publicity photos for the original launch of the C 43 i have posted a thread about the car on here previously, i would like it to go to an enthusiast or the sort of dealer where by it will eventually end up in enthusiastic hands and be looked after, therefore i have decided to try it in the next classic sale at brightwells in leominster, i thought i would post a link to the catalogue just incase anyone was interested in my car

Brightwells Classic Cars > Catalogue

More information will be added when i drop the car off to them.

I wasn`t sure what to ask for as im aware its now an old car thats only really worth as much as someone is actually willing to pay, i was happy with the auctions estimate of 4 to 5k so i agreed to enter it and see what happens, now shall just have to wait and see.

Ps If i have upset anyone by posting in the wrong section im sorry

Cheers

Paul.

what i mean is, when you look at the rest of the cars there a c43 looks a bit out of place, no?

I agree.

or ebay... no one on the place you mentioned will be looking for a c43. you have to go where the market is.

A friend recommended brightwells as they have had C 43`s in the sale before and he thought as mine has a bit of unique history ie being a press car the it may be of interest to someone there, im in no rush so if is does not attract any interest in the sale i can put it on ebay after.

Hi Paul,

I'd have probably considered doing this the other way round - private classified advert (MB owners clubs, Pistonheads etc) first - and if no interest at the price you want, then try the auction route :)

Surely you'll need several people who specifically want to buy your C43 to drive the price up if it's going to bids at auction? C43s are quite a niche car and I wouldn't like to speculate how well it would do at a car auction.

Hello,

To be honest i thought id try the auction first that way i will hopefully avoid any timewasters as they are the type of car that can attract the odd messer, if i do no good in the sale i`l consider marketing it myself or even finding somewhere to put it and just hang on to it.

Regards
Paul.

Well best of luck with the sale regardless, I'm sure it's a lovely car :)

Be sure to mention this forum to whoever buys it, it'd be nice to see where it ends up
