C Class (19), boot not fully opening

In the past 2 months my boot has stopped opening fully, either by using the key fob, or the latch on the drivers side door. It only opens a couple of inches, so I'm having to open & close manually because the convenience button is also not working. I've tried using the boot limiter, on or off and nothing changes, it still doesn't open properly. Apart from this issue, I love the car and I've had other German cars, but Mercedes is No1. Hope someone can help instead of taking the expensive route.
