C Class Estate Buying Guide

I'm a newbie planning to buy my first mercedes C Class estate and would like some help.

I live in East Midlands and regularly travel to London. Does anyone know a good dealer for older used cars? I'm looking to spend between £4 - 6K

Does anyone have a buying guide on what to look out for? What typically needs replacing at this age? As I don't know what to look for should I get an independent inspection?
