Had a C350CDI for a week now ,2011 facelift model , now I'm pretty good with cars but am I over looking something ? I can't get rear interior light to come on, manual just states use the switch on the over head consul to turn on/off, the reading lights work fine , also the light switch which controls exterior lights ( on dash board ) seems strange to me , the centre of the switch lights up but the surrounding symbols don't ie Auto / side etc thought they would illuminate so you can see what your selecting at night .
My Nokia work phone paired up with car but Iphone doesn't is this normal ?
Apart from these little niggles I'm very pleased with the car so far .

is the rear light turned on to auto??? and the light swith for the head lights etc don't illuminate the symbols around the switch you just get the bulb symbol light on the switch it's self as its the same as mine :(

Ok thanks ,, where's the auto setting for rear interior light then on the dash display ? should it be on auto then ?

Have you tried it in the dark?
I thought mine were duff when I first got my car until I tried them in the dark and found that Mercedes in their wisdom thought we don't need an interior light when there is plenty of free light outside.

That headlight switch design is an utter joke, I thought the bulb to illuminate it had blown on mine, then I looked at other C Class's that were the same! I don't understand the logic behind it, and can only assume it is cost-cutting?
As for the rear lights, have you tried switching them on from the overhead console at the front of the car to check they work?

Tried from over head consul , don't work ! Tried in the dark don't work , front interior light works fine , possible the bulbs blown which will be my first check !

If the front interior light is coming on when you unlock the car or open a door but the rear light doesn't, then it sounds to me that the bulb has gone.

I'm guessing that there's no illumination around the exterior light switch because Mercedes assume that most people will just leave it in the Auto position and thus not need to see where it is. That's what I do.

Your I-Phone won't pair completely unfortunately because of the different system used by Mercedes. It only works on the very latest models (2013 onwards) Bluetooth should be fine on yours so you can make and receive calls hands-free and have your contacts show on the COMAND screen, but you can't access the Internet via COMAND using the I-Phone. :(

Ok thanks for reply , I'll try the bulb first then switch ,, I leave on Auto lights but it's just strange it's not illuminated a round the edge , I'll try Iphone again as phone or car couldn't find each other to pair up .
