I'd never heard of Bricklin before seeing it on FantomWorks but is it just me or does it look very similar to the Mercedes C111?

I saw that episode of Phantom works. I'd never heard of a Bricklin either and was honestly not impressed by it. The C111 however has a similar look but way superior IMHO.

IRRC the C111 was originally intended to be W*nkel Engined?? Anyway here's a documentary on the BRICKLIN Uncanny echoes of the John Delorean?

I believe there less than 20 Briklins built.

If you have seen HB Halicki's Deadline autotheft, then you must have seen the red Bricklin in action.
HB Halicki also did the orignal Gone in 60 sec back in the 70's.
Mr.Halicki died when he did his own car stunt.
He was a cool guy.
He had a large toy/car collection.:)

Yes , the rotary engine was one of the power plants originally fitted , but if memory serves it was never intended for production, but as a mobile test bed for various engines and components .
The one I saw In Edinburgh, must’ve been 1976 because it was the launch event for the W123 had the 5.0L M117 at a time when the 450 was still current . Best thing about that event at Prestonfield House was that Rudi Uhlenhaut was there and talking about all the features of the new cars .
The C111 was also fitted with a 5cyl Diesel which ran on extended test .

Interestingly, there were a few rotary engined R107s , most notably Felix ****el ran one himself .

Not that very many C111 were made , despite a few very wealthy customers offering blank cheques for one .
