c180 cutting out

Hi im new to this so bare with me, I have just purchased a c180 1998 and while your driving the car will cut out and the lights come on on the dashboard , the car then will not restart,it will turn over but its as if the fuel is not getting through i think , if you leave the car for ten minutes it will start and maybe run for the rest of the day and then all of a sudden do the same thing, thanks for any help.

When it wont restart, have you got a red & a green light flashing on the interior mirror ?

As jay says CPS - not restarting when hot is a classic symptom. It will probably get gradually worse.

no, everything seems to be okay. i have just gone back to the car because it cut out at the bottom of my road and it has started first time .

if i leave it for about two mins it will start but then cut out after about 100 yards

sorry to be a pain but is it a big job to change the sensor and how much are they to buy, im pretty handy as im a maintenance engineer, cheers

About £80 I think from Mercedes - possible cheaper elsewhere, try eurocarparts.

Part no 8 here - not sure if that's the right part no for your car but location should be the same. If you navigate from here you can find the correct part no.
