C200 headlight alignment

HI all, I have a weird problem with the headlight alignment on my C200. As far as I can tell the lights are standard. When I point the lights at a wall on dipped beam the lights are level and about the right height. When I switch to main beam, the off side light spot appears just above where the dipped light was, but the near side appears well below the dipped line. Consequently, when driving, the near side road is well illuminated just in front of the car.
I have checked the wiring and all the correct lights are connected correctly in case some one had crossed fog and main beam. I have swapped bulbs, they are correctly seated, and removing the front glass, both units look the same. But as both main bean and dipped lights are part of the same housing and cannot be adjusted independently, I am at a loss as to what to do next.
Any Ideas????

FYI – after dismantling the head light assembly, I found the problem to be the metal shroud around the dipped headlight bulb inside the assembly, was bent – centralising the shroud around the bulb sorted the problem. So in actual fact it was not the main beam being low, it was the dipped beam pointing high which had then been adjusted to correct height causing the main beam to point low.

glad you sorted it!
