The air con/heater fan sometimes runs at full speed together with very warm air from the vents - this happens with aircon on or off and regardless of fan switch position. After about 5 mins everthing settles down to normal. Is there a controller behind the dashboard that might be at fault?

i had the same annoying thing happen to mine..if it is W203, you will find many having similar issues..the airconditioning for this car is not wonderful..even after normalising the flaps..it does what it wants basically..
Sometimes, it works perfect..right speed,right temp..other times like yesterday on a drive to Luton, it was cold..fan speed only working at speed 5.5..nothing at 5..and temp setitng at max..but cabin felt like more 21..did the reset and nothing..then this morning, to work at gatwick, car behaving like a good girl..
If someone can tell me what is wrong, I would be most gratefull..Merc keep testing it and saying all is well..
