Hi All
Starting problem was the BOSCH engine management ECU had given up.
Went into the options for this problem with perhaps a repair but this was not recommended due to the fact the repair would only replace the faulty components and there could be other problems later on so I have had to opt for a new one.
This can only be done by the main stealers I had to leave my log book, all something to do with the security setup etc.
The repair option was not a realy good idea because the three company's I contacted said they would have a look but my particular ECU had a gel sealant of some sort which in the past has caused them problems so I have gone for new with a full guarantee from Mercedes.
The best bit now it has to come from Germany so a wait of about 5 days before they can start the job and the final bill including the towing to the garage is going to be £1714.00.
If it is any consolation to all you guys with a 1999 C200 or any other Merc with my ECU Mercedes said they can count on one hand the failures they have had with these so there you are (my good luck continous)
