Hi,
I have a 2001 model c200k w203.

The gear box has suddenly got noisy in any(or something within the gearbox region) gear, even in neutral when the car is in motion. sounds like something is against the gears while it is in motion.

Has anybody got any ideas on what it is or how to diagnose?
Is there a workshop manual for this car.
Where is the gearbox oil filler plug etc?

Thanks

To try to guess some options.

1.Automatic
2 Manual
3 Noise came on suddenly
4 noise came on after a drag strip start.

I'll go with option 2 and the noise came on gradually and has got progressively worse. It's the input shaft bearing gone.
Does it go quiet only when the clutch is depressed.?
