C207 Glkovebox lock

I have had a reasonable search , but I maybe the first with this (or it was a just a 'man look'...)

Opener fell off
Glovebox is closed.

I cannot slot it back in (optimist)
I cannot open it
I doesn't rattle though

Before I have go off to the garage and shell out for some time, a new opener or worst case a whole new glove box, has anybody got any ideas or solutions please?
