Hi all - bit of a backstory on this one
In September part of concrete pipe fell off the back of a HGV and bounced under my car which resulted in an insurance job - new gear box and some others bits done (see picture of list)
Car was returned to me - drives fine. However a horrible creaking noise developed from the front of the car. I’ve had 2 separate mechanics look at the car who both could not find anything out of place. Resorted back to accident repair garage and they resecured the under tray and were adamant the creaking noise had disappeared. As soon as I got my car back and drove it away, it’s still creaking! Seems to be at its worst when turning left and back, and then when setting off from stationary. I can’t hear it when driving. It is driving me up the wall!

It could be a coincidence,
It the noise is easily replicated/heard, then seek
advice from insurance.
I get a creaking sound when I reverse off my drive at times.
I always reverse slowly, drive carefully and though my hearing
is not great, I almost always note unusual sounds from my car before anyone else inc mechanics.

I sought help on these forums re above.
It was recommended I spray springs/rubbers/shocks etc with a silicone spray.
I did both rear sides. No difference but then a few of weeks later it stopped
The noise has returned but not as notable. Mrs M does not hear it.

I should go back to your insurers and ask them to investigate.
I have done. I’ve gone down the route of formal complaint/investigation, they came back Friday letting me know that they didn’t uphold any point, and that they’ve pretty much just taken the accident repairers word for it that there is no creaking, when there is! 🤣

Thanks for replying
I’ve been back and forth with insurance so many times - even put a formal complaint in and they have just taken the repairers word that there isn’t a creak lol! The noise is really apparent - my dad and partner can’t understand why nobody has found the issue!

As I said, it could be a coincidence.
How old is your car and mileage?
My car was about 7.3 years old and about 20k on the clock.

It is damn annoying any type of noise that is not supposed to be there.
I hope you get it sorted.

I had a creaking coming from the steering column area - turned out to be the plastic covering had not located properly by the UJ from where I took it off when installing a reversing camera

It’s 2019 with 62k!
