Hello, can anyone help me with a question on the P0101 fault? The car is a 2016 E220D coupe and it generally behaves itself. However, when I accelerate hard the ‘check engine’ light comes on and the car suffers from low turbo boost. I can reset the error by switch the car off for 15 mins and use the Torque app and a cheap diagnostic plug to do this. The Error P0101 is given by the OBDII as the mass air follow sensor fault. Looking around the forum, it seems to be a known issue with a couple of resolutions. So far I have obtained MAF sensor cleaner and tried that – without success, I have also removed the charge air cooler hoses and checked for cracks – none found. I have changed the air filter and checked the turbo feed ducting without success. I have managed to get a new OEM MAF sensor but when I fitted it the car basically cut out at idle. So the question is: are there other things I should check? Why wouldn’t the new OEM MAF sensor work? Do I need a star system to introduce the new part? All comments welcome –
