MAF assembly - how to undo the flexy connectors

Probably.......heat and a blade usually get them moving though.

I must admit I thought you would just be buying the sensor itself....just the bit the plug goes onto (similar to google generic pic below).....that's what I have used in the past....they are cheaper like that as they are used on lots of different cars whereas that plastic moulding will only be use on a few. Good job either way.

I would end up snapping it, its like its molded into the plastic. Maybe cutting it with a Dremel would work.
How would you find the exact correct sensor for the om642 ? Does it have a part number?

I have managed to remove the maf unit from the intake, it was a pain but i got it off in the end. I hope its easy pushing new one in.

Any pictures of your handy work. ? Have you sourced the mafs separately?
I believe these mafs are plastic welded to the batwing at the factory.

I have uploaded it on YouTube for everyone. Hope it makes sense.

Now my problem is i realised the sensor i fitted is a 5pin..much more available and cheaper than the older 4pin. Despite the car being a 2015 adblue. Ive not ordered 5 pin plug connectors convert to a 5 pin MAF.attached a wiring diagram for you guys out there.
On the left of the picture it shows left and right sensors for cars pre-2014 and the R side diagram is for 2014+. Only terminal 3 is additional which doesnt need to be connected according to one source.

Do you have the part number for just the sensor itself(not in the housing?

For my 18/19 reg glc350 it's

BOSCH 0 281 002 954. Autodoc

£170 each . Not as cheap as folk make out .

Maf sensor in a housing for my e350 17 reg £95. Partsinmotion Bosch.

I tried fitting this 4 pin one on eBay today and the live readings were showing that the temperature was 90ish degrees Celsius when the ambient temperature was 8 degrees... This means that the sensor does not record the temperature correctly. When I connected the old Bosch used sensor, it worked fine and the temperature was close to the ambient temperature, this is how it should be. Managed to remove the old sensor by tapping on the edge of it which freed it from bonding that was holding in the housing.

I did a 4pin to 5 pin conversion but used a 5pin cambiare sensor, missing out the 3 pin with housing from partsinmotion. It also has the same problem. So after maybe 4 -5 starts it flags up again with EML

Now I will try just the sensor from eBay, the part number for 4 pin sensor 00c2g8218. Bosch don't make them anymore for some reason but Chinese ones are available.
