Not with the wife, I think I know what to do there! But I'm concerned the garage can't find/fix the fault with my car not starting and they have had it on and off since Friday.

The car is a 2002 C220 CDI auto and I've owned it for about 6 months with no problems. Now when trying to start it the Engine turns but just won't fire, they can start it with those cans of quick start which led them to believe it was a fuel issue, the AA man suggested injectors or leaking pipes from the injectors. The garage (local Merc. specialist) diagnosed the cam position sensor as being faulty and replaced that which got the car starting first time, I drove it away and when I went to start it again had the same problem, they took it back in and have now replaced a relay switch for the fuel pump, I drove it away tonight and now I've got it home, again it won't start. Once its started it runs fine..

With my wife due imminently this is a big concern - Anyone got any sugestions on what it could be??

Any help/advice appreciated.

I had a similar problem on my c270 cdi, turned out to be low pressure in the rails, due to a leak, the car would start after the pressure built up. could take as long as 10 minutes though. Do you have a full service history, if so Mobilife might be able to help, if they cant fix it you get a loaner car whilst yours is at the stealers.

Hope you get it fixed before the baby arrives, good luck

Probably an injector fault. Get the leak off tested.

This will show up any injector problem.

It maybe the rail pressure monitor too.

I'm totally clueless so reliant on what the garage have told me, apparently they have tested the pressure and said it's fine and they can't find any leak  I think his next port of call was going to be the pump - Would this make sense?

The injector leak off (not leak).

The injectors leak back unused fuel and this can become faulty and cause non start.

Yep, had the same issues with my C270. Its amazing what 1 leaking injector can do!

Update - Thanks for all the advice, turns out injector number 2 was knackered they replaced that and it seems to be sorted :bannana:

Glad you got it sorted. (good guess!)

Mobilife are the MB breakdown cover service, as long as the car is serviced by MB they renew the cover for up to 30 years. Should have the info with the hand book. How old is your car and how long have you had it? as I am not sure if it passes from owner to owner.

Good luck with the baby!!!!
