Hi wonder if anyone can help.

We have a C220 CDI Estate, 04 reg with 50k miles. Bought the car in December (6 months ago) and done 3k miles. Main Dealer informed us that the discs and pads were changed at the beginning of December.

Under braking the car starts to stop then there is a dead spot and then they work again. Is this normal?

Looking at the brakes, there is only contact on the ends of the pad to the disc. They don't sit flush against the disc (think this is correct). Is this normal? or is there a problem? On my golf they sit flush, and well as on my parents ML CDI270.

Before we make the hours drive to the dealer, do we have a problem and what could it be.

Thanks

If they were fitted in december and are as described, then they were not fitted correctly, or are the wrong pads. Take it back to the dealer you bought it off and play hell till they fix it properly under their 12 months warranty.

Welcome slypeek.
I agree with Brian, it sounds like the pads are binding in the carrier so dont present to the disk properly. Take it back to be sorted.
