C220d boot lid not opening

Hi guys,

I thought this may have been a common issue, but I can't find a solution anywhere!

I have a 2018 AMG c220d coupe (W205) and the boot release, both on the key fob and drivers side door are no longer working. There is no handle, lever or key slot on the boot itself so I'm currently unable to access the boot at all.

Does anyone have any idea where to start before I get it booked in?

Which page is the "my boot doesn't work and here are the million different things that could be wrong"???

If you can't or don't want to help, then why waste your time even replying?

I'll take my question to another forum where hopefully people don't have a chip on their shoulders.

If there is no valet lock inside the glove box my thoughts would be to check fuses... having failed that then scan for codes... it could be anything from a micro switch, faulty wiring, faulty lock, to an issue with central locking. In the mean time you can use the blade key on your fob to manually open it if need be.

Definitely no valet switch in the glove box or elsewhere that I can see. On this particular model (AMG) there is no key slot on the boot anywhere, so I don't think it can be opened any other way.

Incredibly, the fuses for the locking mechanism are also in the boot I believe. Manufacturing genius from MB.

The only possible solution I have found is to drill a hole behind the reg plate to gain access to the cable behind, so will give this a go.
