Hi,

Hoping someone might be able to shed some light on this for me. Recently I've been having issues with my turbo and so far I haven't managed to find an answer as to why. I have zero warning lights/messages on the car.

When accelerating, the car pulls away absolutely fine, responsive and not sluggish at all (so I'm sure it's not in limp mode)... However, as soon as it hits around 2-2500 revs, when the turbo should kick in, nothing happens. It then feels like something is restricting the acceleration and it won't go past 3000 revs.

I've had the car serviced today, found that the handbrake had siezed so that has been fixed, but still no improvement with the turbo. It was mentioned to them when dropping the car off however in my rush when leaving I completely forgot to ask again about the turbo (stupid I know!). Everything on the service passed no problem at all.

The other thing which may or may not be connected is that when I first put the key in the ignition the eco button light comes on fine, but about two seconds after the engine has started it goes off and will not come on at all. I'm assuming this means that something is failing the eco tests (not sure on technical term!) and I'm not sure if that is linked to the lack of turbo?

I'm incredibly hopeful that this will be something simple, although I'm fully aware this may be a 'slightly' expensive job.

If anyone has any experience of this or may know of what may be happening I will be incredibly grateful!

I also have this particular issue re: the eco button on my 2013 W204 C250 CDI but I'm pretty sure it's battery related as it's still on the original battery so probably time for a new one (both main battery and the auxiliary one in the boot).

In the morning when starting I wait for the glow plug like to go out and start and sometimes get the issue you describe but if I turn the car off and on again it will be fine. Also this only seems to happen first thing in the morning, it's fine through the rest of the day. Now it's getting colder though I'm getting it more often each morning.

The reason I think it's battery related is because since owning the car for 6 months now, the eco symbol on the dash has always stayed yellow and never turned green so the stop start system has never worked (which is why I've left it for so long!)

The other thing I've started to notice more recently is that sometimes the brake hold function has stopped working randomly which again is presumably down to the battery? Sorry I can't help with the turbo problem though.

HOLD issue could be the brake booster sensor .

You really don't want ECO Stop Strain working as it's bad for the car.

I disabled mine by removing the auxiliary battery fuse , happy with the trial I then completely removed the auxiliary battery saving 5 Kg .

You need to have it scanned for codes.

It could be many things but without a proper diagnostic scan you will be guessing.

It could be a sensor fault or the turbo actuator.

It needs proper diagnosis on a Star. Ideally by a specialist or main dealer. Do a search and there will be one local to you.

Common issues are DPF pressure sensor and/or a blocked DPF.
